3-hour Class. Minimum 4 students.

This class is designed for Touring/Sea Kayak paddlers with existing basic paddling skills wishing to learn or practice self and assisted rescues. This course is not for recreational or inflatable kayaks. Be sure to read Clinic Requirements below. All attendees will be vetted to ensure these qualifications are met.

LOGISTICS:

WHEN: Fri, Aug 22, 2025: Time: 5~8pm

WHERE: Tubbs Hill Trailhead on the east side of Tubbs Hill. Launching from the 11st Marina Lagoon next to the old pump house. it is a bit of a walk to the put in.

COST: $75 per paddler - plus transaction fees :-(

Amenities: There are bathrooms at the trailhead parking lot.

BRING:

CLOTHES FOR IMMERSION! Drysuit or Drytop/Pants or wetsuit with paddle jacket, and any thermal insulation you think you might want for spending time in and out of the water in late Aug. YOU WILL GET WET EARLY & OFTEN!

And the following:

Properly sized and fitted (snug cockpit) kayak, with front and rear bulkheads or flotation

Paddle, Spray Skirt, Fitted PFD, Bilge Pump, Paddle Float

15' NRS Strapping or 1" webbing (if you have it)

Complete change of clothes

Sun hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, chair for time on land.

Nose plugs are VERY helpful. (Ex: Harmony Smiley's Nose Plugs)

On-water snacks & water.
