This class is designed for newer and seasoned paddlers wishing to refine their skills for open water kayaking in lakes and oceans. This course is not for recreational or inflatable kayaks. Be sure to read Clinic Requirements below.

WHEN and WHERE:

Sat. & Sun. June 29-30, 8:30-3:00 & 8:30-4:00Lake Coeur d'Alene just west of Yap-Keehn-Um Beach

COST: $125 per paddler - plus transaction fees :-(

Amenities: There are bathrooms nearby. There is usually adequate parking along the road this early in the morning.

Celebrate: We usually go out for a bite at Capone's in CdA after Sunday's class.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

Properly sized and fitted (snug cockpit) kayak, with bulkheads or front and rear flotation

Paddle

Spray skirt

PFD, Coast Guard approved

Bilge pump

Paddle float

15 ft. of 1" webbing (Let us know if you need to borrow)

Clothes for immersion. YOU WILL GET WET! Wool, polypro, fleece, warm hat, rain gear, wetsuit or dry top/drysuit if possible

Complete change of paddling clothes

Sun hat, sunglasses and sunscreen

Nose plugs are helpful. YOU WILL GO UPSIDE DOWN

Minimum age 15, accompanied by adult
