Voyageur Canoe Outing

Details

Calling all Canoeists

Any problems with this picture? No one is in the boat! Lets fill it up and go for a paddle. This is an event for canoers. (You can be a kayaker as well, but for this evening, you'll be using a t-grip paddle.) Lets get together and hang out in one large, beautiful vessel. Sign up to paddle and hang with others who love the open boat life!

And do it soon! There are only 8 spots on this outing.

If you are too late to sign up, send me a chat and your favorite contact method so I can reach out next time we are going out.

If you have a bent shaft as well as a straight shaft paddle, bring both. Lets see how they perform.

Details

We will be adjacent to a regular Tuesday Flatwater Paddle so we may join other SCKC boaters for part or the paddle.

As we haven't been out in this vessel very much this year and it may be new to you, we will go over how to use it and hopefully test some of its capacity (Speed baby, speed.)

Its a heavy boat. For one person. But for many hands, its pretty light. If you have a strong back, we may need your help loading and unloading.

Bring a comfortable PFD (Lifejacket) with whistle and your favorite paddle if you have one.

Bring a chair, snack and drink to tailgate afterwards!

You will need a Discover Pass https://discoverpass.wa.gov/

Amenities: Ample parking and restroom are available at the put in.

This is a leisurely but continuous paddle along the Spokane River at Plese Flats. This time of year the current is not an issue however the water is VERY COLD. We may paddle upstream first to play a bit in the riffles. We'll then turn around back past the launch until it is time to return to the put in to take out approximately 2-2.5hrs later. All paddler skills are welcome.

GENERAL INFO: Please read through this full message at least once a season.

Arrive early enough to launch at the start time.

INDIVIDUALS MUST STAY WITH THE GROUP AND WEAR A PFD & WHISTLE WHILE PADDLING.
