Launch at Medicine Lake then paddle CDA River to Killarney Lake

Details

10am we will launch at Medicine Lake and paddle through a tree lined canal to the CDA River then to Killarney Lake. Bring a chair and lunch and if the sandbar is there again we can hang out on it. NOTE>>>this is an Intermediate and above paddle. No inflatables or paddle boards. The estimated distance is 12 miles roundtrip, so please be sure you are comfortable with that distance.


Dress for the weather and bring food and lots of water. After the Harrison paddle, I am joining pur friends from North Idaho Kayak Club and camping at Rainy Hill (Medicine Lake). They have invited members from SCKC to join them.

Amenities: Rainy Hill is an undeveloped a USFS campground, but there is a pit toilet at the put in which is maybe half a block from the campground. If you do not want to camp, come on out Sunday for the paddle. Please arrive by 930 so we can launch by 10.Arrive early enough to launch at the start time. We are happy to help unload and load your boats.


INDIVIDUALS MUST STAY WITH THE GROUP AND WEAR A PFD & WHISTLE WHILE PADDLING.REQUIRED:


Type of Boat: 12 ft or longer Kayak or Canoe. No paddle boards or slow inflatables.

Paddler Responsibility: Each paddler is responsible for choosing outings they can handle comfortably and assumes full responsibility for their participation.

Please read through this full message at least once a season.Dress for water temperature and weather. Bring a change of clothes & towel (in case you get wet).


Good Items to Bring: Dry bags, Spray Skirt, emergency contact info headlamp, water shoes, sunhat, sunscreen, sunglasses with retainer, drinking water and snacks.Membership is $20/year. Cancellation/updates: Wind, smoke, high temperatures or other conditions could result in event cancellation. If so, the Host will update on Meetup. Please check before coming.
