Paddling on Priest Lake & Upper Priest + Camping on Kalispell IslandAugust 31 at 3 pm - September 2 at 5 pmRegistration is required here on Meetup.You can join me for the full 3 day camping trip (on Kalispell Island) or just for the day trips (on Priest Lake and Upper Priest).
Itinerary8/31 at 3 pm. Meet at the Kalispell Island boat launchhttps://maps.app.goo.gl/QTjERk82rN5DHCNi9Load all your camping gear in your kayak and paddle with us to group campsite #29 on Kalispell IslandOr load and paddle to campsite #29 on Kalispell Island on the east side on your own at any time.To access the Kalispell Bay Boat Launch, travel on Highway 57 for 31 miles to Kalispell Bay Road. Turn east (right) until you reach West Lakeshore Road. Then head south .5 miles to the boat launch.Please display camping reservation (which I will send to you) on dashboard if parking at Kalispell Bay Boat Launch.The camping on Kalispell Island is primitive meaning there is no water. The only amenities are a vault toilet, picnic table and campfire ring. There is a Pack it In, Pack it Out policy on all waste on the island.

(That means get there well before 10 am to unload and set up your boat.) We are happy to help each other unload and load your boats.We’ll paddle to Hill’s Resort and eat lunch there.Weather permitting, we’ll paddle around Bartoo Island. If it’s too windy around the island, we’ll paddle along the shore. We’ll paddle back to the Kalispell Island boat launch.For those camping on Kalispell Island, we’ll finish our paddle at the island.
After we are done camping on Monday morning, we are packing up all of our gear and paddling back to our cars at the Kalispell Island boat launch. Then we'll drive to the Beaver Creek Campground.
9/2 at 12 noon. (That means get there well before 10 am to unload and set up your boat.) We are happy to help each other unload and load your boats.There is drinking water and vault toilets at the beach.We’ll paddle Upper Priest Lake (out and back)
Bring food and lots of drinks. Wear a PFD, whistle and sunscreen. Cell phone reception in the area is not great so plan accordingly.
All paddler skills are welcome. We are happy to help newer boaters.YOU MUST STAY WITH THE GROUP AND WEAR A PFD & WHISTLE WHILE PADDLING. (We will provide you with a whistle if you need one.)REQUIRED:

Paddler Responsibility: Each paddler is responsible for choosing outings they can handle comfortably and assumes full responsibility for their participation.
GENERAL INFO: Please read through this full message at least once a season.
Dress for water temperature and weather. Bring a change of clothes & towel (in case you get wet).
Good Items to Bring: Dry bags, spray skirt, emergency contact info, water shoes, sunhat, sunscreen, sunglasses with retainer, drinks and snacks.
Cancellation/updates: Wind, smoke, high temperatures or other conditions could result in event cancellation. If so, the Host will update on Meetup. Please check before coming.NOTE: If it is windy, inflatable or "bathtub" boats (i.e. the ones that have no way to steer!) are not recommended.
