LOW BRACE and WET EXIT PRACTICE for first timers
Details
The low brace is the first of a series of paddle strokes to take your skill level from beginner to intermediate. There is a low brace when you are stopped, and there is a low brace when you are moving. Wet exit practice with and without a cockpit skirt is vital to feeling safe on the water. I will have scuba gear which will include a breathing regulator on an extension hose for the person trying this for the first time. This should eliminate the fear that new paddlers feel when going over. Besides, I will be standing in the water next to you. You will get wet so wear appropriate apparel for the water temperature. You may bring a skirt if you have one, but it is not necessary. Goggles, nose plug, or swim mask will be helpful. This event is for club members only. Completion of this course will allow you to wear a skirt for club events.
