Long Lake - Evening Flatwater Paddle

Details

Details

This is an easy out and back paddle on a quiet section of the Spokane River, here Long Lake. We are happy to help newer boaters.

Round trip distance is 3 miles. Current is negligible with fetch less than 2 mi. Water temperature measured on May 23 was ~58 deg. Appropriate attire to protect from cold water immersion is strongly recommended.

If the group is large, we'll split into faster and slower boats. Depending on group interest, volunteers may demonstrate ways to handle situations like, “Oops I came out of my boat.”, “What do you mean you lost your paddle?”, or “How do you roll that thing?”, etc.

Required

Type of Boat: Recreational and up. Kayak or Canoe

Equipment: Paddle, whistle and PFD. The PFD must be worn at all times when on the water.

Signed SCKC waiver: https://form.jotform.com/JLAagency/spokane-canoe--kayak-club-waiver

Each paddler is responsible for choosing outings they can handle comfortably and assumes full responsibility for their participation.
